Veiligheidsregio Drenthe
On behalf of the Veiligheidsregio Drenthe / Municipality of Assen, we managed the sale of the newly built headquarters designed specifically for the region’s safety services, including the fire brigade, GGD and other emergency services. The building was delivered as a custom facility to accommodate the operational needs of these organisations before it was sold. The transaction was executed through a structured sales process that was initiated during the construction phase, ensuring a smooth transition from delivery to sale.
In addition to the sales execution, we also advised on the disposition of the existing properties in the Municipality of Assen that were vacated as part of the consolidation into the new headquarters. The objective of the sale was to remove the asset from the client’s balance sheet while securing long-term use for the safety services, achieved through a sale and leaseback structure. This approach ensured that the organisations could continue to occupy the building under stable, long-term terms, while the seller met its financial and strategic objectives. The assignment is a strong example of societal real estate delivered as a sustainably performing investment product.
